Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information Empira ("the app", "we") collects, how it is used, and your choices. We designed the app to collect as little personal information as possible.
What We Collect
Gameplay analytics. We collect pseudonymous gameplay events to improve the game's design and difficulty. This includes:
- A random installation identifier stored on your device and a random session identifier generated for each app session. These help us measure returning use and are not linked to your name, email, Apple ID, or account.
- Device model, iOS version, and app version
- Gameplay events: level started, completed, failed, quit, or restarted; difficulty selected; time played; stars earned; achievements unlocked
- Match summaries: how each match unfolded, recorded as totals only (the share of worlds you held, worlds captured and lost, number of commands and upgrades, time spent idle, paused, or at double speed), plus which button you chose on the result screen and whether in-game tips were read or dismissed. We do not record where you tapped or a log of individual moves.
- In-app purchase events: whether the purchase was started, completed, cancelled, left pending, or failed (never your payment details)
Our gameplay analytics do not include your name, email, Apple ID, location, contacts, or photos. We do not create user accounts. The random identifiers above are pseudonymous; the advertising and infrastructure services below also process device and network information.
Advertising (Google AdMob). The app displays banner ads on Home, Maps and match-result screens via Google AdMob; the tutorial and gameplay show no ads. Empira does not display Apple's App Tracking Transparency permission prompt. Ad personalization is disabled before Google Mobile Ads starts. Non-personalized ads may use contextual information, such as general location, instead of a profile based on your past activity. AdMob may collect:
- App- or developer-bounded device identifiers. Your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) may also be available if you allowed tracking for Empira in an earlier version and that permission remains enabled. You can review or turn off that permission in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- IP address (used for approximate location and fraud prevention)
- Advertising and interaction data, such as ads viewed, impressions and clicks
- Crash logs, performance information and other diagnostic data
Turning off ad personalization does not stop all advertising data collection. Google may use the information above for ad delivery, measurement, fraud prevention and analytics.
Where required, the app provides Privacy Choices in its Settings screen to revisit the advertising-consent form.
See Google's Privacy Policy for details on how AdMob processes data.
Our analytics server (Cloudflare). Like any internet request, sending analytics reveals your IP address to our server, which runs on Cloudflare. We use it only momentarily to limit abusive traffic and do not store it with your analytics events.
Purchases (Apple). In-app purchases are processed by Apple via StoreKit. We do not see or store your payment information. See Apple's Privacy Policy.
iCloud sync (Apple). When iCloud is enabled for Empira, Apple’s iCloud service syncs your level progress, achievements, play statistics, Stardust earning and spending records, owned skins, and unlocks across your devices using the same Apple Account. This sync data is stored in your iCloud account and is not sent to our servers.
How We Use It
- To understand which levels are too easy or too difficult and rebalance them
- To identify and fix bugs or crashes
- To improve the store page and pricing
- To display advertising (AdMob)
We do not sell your data. We do not share it with third parties except as necessary to operate the services listed above (Google AdMob, Apple, our own analytics hosted on Cloudflare).
Data Retention
Analytics events are deleted automatically 180 days after our server receives them. They are associated with random installation and session identifiers, not directly with your identity. Your game data is stored on your device and, when iCloud sync is enabled, in your iCloud account.
Your Choices
- Ads: ad personalization is disabled; the optional Remove Ads purchase removes ads entirely
- Analytics: contact us to ask about your analytics data or to object to processing. We do not collect account details that let us reliably locate one installation without additional information from you.
- Delete the app: Uninstalling removes local game data and preferences from that device but does not delete the iCloud copy.
Children's Privacy
The app is rated 4+ and is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect directly identifying information from children. The analytics described above use random identifiers and contain no name, email, or account information.
International Users
EU / UK (GDPR): our legal basis for processing gameplay analytics is legitimate interest. You have the right to object to processing; contact us to do so.
California (CCPA): we do not "sell" personal information as defined by the CCPA.
Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, surface a notice in the app.
